Claude and Codex in one pane

Two coding agents on one job without copying text between windows, and you approve every hand-off.

Termiyo can open Claude Code and Codex in one pane: Claude leads, hands part of the work to Codex only when you allow it, and every command, file change and answer from both lands in one transcript, tagged with who did it. Use it when one job needs two coding agents. In desktop 0.4.42, AI Accounts Pool replaces the separate Work together screen; the paired-agent flow described here remains separate from pool routing.

Two coding agents in one tab: Claude leads and can hand part of the work to Codex. Every command, file change and answer from both lands in one transcript, tagged with who did it.

Historical recording from before the pool replacement; its final Work together segment is retired. The paired-agent steps remain separate from the pool. Recorded in Termiyo with scripted stand-ins for Claude Code and Codex: they make the same requests and hand-offs the real programs do, but no model runs and no real account is used.

Steps

  1. Add your AI accounts

Open “AI accounts & tools” in the menu and add a Claude Code account and a Codex account under “AI accounts”. Each one is the program’s own sign-in.

  2. Open both in one pane

Press “Open Claude Code, Codex and Gemini side by side”, tick Claude Code and Codex, choose “In one pane — Claude leads, Codex takes on work”, pick the folder and press “Open in one pane”.

  3. Give Claude the job

Type what you want done and press “Send”. Claude plans, works in the folder, and asks before it does something that needs your permission.

  4. Answer what it asks

A permission request and a hand-off to Codex each wait for you, with “Allow” and “Deny”. Codex does not start until you allow the hand-off.

  5. Read one transcript

Claude’s lines are tagged orange and Codex’s blue, with the commands each ran and the files each changed, and Claude carries on from Codex’s answer.

  6. Keep paired agents separate from pool routing

In desktop 0.4.42, “AI Accounts Pool” replaces the retired Work together screen. It routes coding CLI requests between accounts of the same provider; it does not assign manager jobs or switch a Claude request to Codex. All three pool locations require paid Termiyo membership. This paired-agent workflow remains a separate feature.

Transcript

Two coding agents on one job without copying text between windows, and you approve every hand-off.

First, add your own Claude Code and Codex accounts, side by side.

Open Claude Code and Codex in one pane, on the folder you choose. Claude leads, and Codex takes on work.

Say the job once. Claude plans it and does the work.

A permission request, or a hand-off to Codex, waits for your yes.

Who did what, in one transcript.

Or put every account on one job. Before anything starts, Termiyo says how many accounts will work, and whose allowance each task spends.
